# The TimeScale

The timescale is fixed.

It shows only weeks and months for the years 2025 through 2028, that's four years (not three).

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/R84Q1dRUFVzeX78NYaj6" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

The only choice you have is to choose the starting month-year and the finishing month-year.

{% hint style="danger" %}
**Do not change the timescale after tasks have been placed in it**

FigJam seems to assign random anchor points to tasks, milestones, and swim lanes, causing them to move in random directions as the time scale or page height is changed.
{% endhint %}

### How to change the time frame after tasks have been added

Don't. Instead, create a new blank TimeTable, adjust the dates and height as needed then select everything from your old schedule, minus the timetable, and copy/drag it over to your new one.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://robinsmorton.gitbook.io/timetable-figjam/the-timescale.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
